how can silicone brush mold

What is a brush mold? Brush mold is a term in the mold industry. For better explanation, let’s first introduce mold making. Mold making is a process that records the appearance of the things to be copied through specific materials to form a hollow shell, so as to fill different materials in the hollow shell to make things with the original product appearance. There are many materials for making molds, which can be divided into hard molds and soft molds according to different materials. Brush mold is a method of making mold with soft mold material. This method has a wide range of applications and low requirements for external conditions. Here we will introduce the mold silicon by taking the silica gel, one of the soft mold materials, as an example

Here we will take silica gel, one of the soft mold materials, as an example to introduce the mold brushing process of the mold silica gel material.

Generally speaking, the brush mold of mold silicone can be divided into single side sheet mold and multi side sheet mold. In fact, there is no difference between the two methods, but the difference is based on how fast the whole brush mold process is divided into. Simply divided into two pieces is called a single side die, and if divided into multiple pieces is called a multi side die. How many blocks are divided to brush the mold depends on the appearance of the molded product. The more complex the appearance, the more it needs to be divided into several times. Of course, if the operator’s technical level is high, the number of die can also be reduced.

It is still necessary to repeat the processing of the molded product when lifting the silicone molding. This treatment process needs to be determined according to the specific conditions of the product. The purpose of the treatment is to ensure that the appearance of the product is smooth and perfect without affecting the quality of the silicone mold. Of course, reasonable selection of release agent is also one of the methods to improve the quality of mold making.

The brush mold also needs to fix the molded product. But it is slightly more complicated than the pouring mold. Because the brush mold is usually used to mold different parts of a product for several times, and then combine the molds of various parts to form a whole mold to achieve the purpose of turning the mold. Therefore, reasonable division of the parts of the molded product has become a key problem. Generally speaking, some materials, such as industrial plasticine, will be used to cover the parts that will not be molded temporarily, and the exposed parts will be molded separately.

After fixing the molded products, it is also necessary to prepare silicone rubber. In the process of modulation, attention should be paid to the reasonable proportion of colloid and catalyst, and both should be mixed evenly. If conditions permit, vacuumizing treatment is required, but the vacuumizing time shall not be too long.

The biggest difference between the brush mold and the pouring mold is the process of silicone contact molding products. We know that the pouring mold only needs to pour the prepared silica gel directly onto the treated product, but the brushing mold needs to brush onto the product layer by layer. General silicone rubber products will have a process guide for brushing the mold, which only needs to be done according to the requirements. It should be pointed out that if a mold with high physical strength is required during mold brushing, some fiber materials should be added during the process of mold brushing, but it should be noted that glass fiber must not be used.

The scope of application of brush mold is quite broad. Basically, any soft mold can be made with brush mold. Of course, there are some unnecessary places to complete with brush mold, which will only increase the cost.
